Stormy Weather at Empire State College on May 29, 2012

You may have had some trouble accessing college resources yesterday evening.  This included library resources.  The area where the main college offices are housed was hit by severe storms yesterday.  We had servere thunderstorm warnings and tornado watches going on all day.

At approximately 5pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, a large tree fell across the 4 lane road in front of many of the Empire State College offices in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Unfortunately, this tree took down power lines and created a very dangerous situation at Empire State College.  Power was lost, phones went down, the internet went down and mostof our servers were not available.  The library had to close for the rest of the evening.

We are happy to report that no one was hurt when this happened and that today, all library services are back up and running thanks to a generator.  If you need to contact a librarian, we are here! Access to our library resources is all back up and running as well.   We apologize for any inconvenience caused by our absence yesterday evening.
