New library database: Lexis Nexis Academic to replace Mergent Online and Westlaw Next

LexisNexis logo Starting today, you can access LexisNexis Academic through the Empire State College Online Library! LexisNexis Academic is a database of business, legal, and news resources. For business, it has company, industry, country, and executive profiles as well as company financials. For law, it has case law, statutes, and law review articles. It also is an excellent source for newspapers and news magazines.

To access LexisNexis Academic, go to the Online Library (http://www.esc.edu/library) and click Article Databases, then scroll down the alphabetical list and click it to log in with your college login and password. You will find plenty of video tutorials on how to use LexisNexis Academic at the How To (http://subjectguides.esc.edu/lexisnexis).

Because of its impressive breadth and depth of business and legal content, LexisNexis Academic will be replacing two of the library’s other databases: Mergent Online (business) and Westlaw Next (law). LexisNexis’s ease of use, and the ability to link directly to items of content inside the database make it a great choice for our library.
